We would like to inform the community of the moonsighting position that ICOB will follow going forward for the commencement of Ramadan, as well as for both Eids.
ICOB will continue to adopt a global moonsighting approach. For the sake of clarity and consistency, we will follow the official moon sighting declarations issued by the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA). Accordingly, all announcements regarding the beginning of Ramadan and the days of Eid will be made in accordance with AMJA’s declarations.
AMJA is a well-established and respected body of scholars in North America.
