The Islamic Center of Bothell was formally established in 2009 to serve the Muslim community in Bothell and the surrounding areas. In 2014, we took a significant step forward by purchasing a historic farmhouse, which has since been transformed into a vibrant center for worship and community gathering.
In 2018, after careful planning and community input, we finalized a comprehensive two-phase design for our facility. Phase I focused on converting the original farmhouse into our main masjid, providing a dedicated space for daily prayers and religious activities. Phase II envisions the construction of a modern, multi-purpose Community Center to serve the growing needs of our community.
Construction of Phase I began in 2019 and was successfully completed in 2022, establishing our main prayer facility. After serving our community for several years, we are excited to announce that in 2025, the community decided to move forward with Phase II.
As of late 2025, we have engaged Avalon Project as our construction partner and received approval from the City of Bothell to proceed with design development and permitting. The proposed Community Center is planned as either a 3-floor (25,294 sq ft) or 5-floor (42,294 sq ft) facility, with estimated costs of $3.8M and $5M respectively.
Community Center is being designed to provide the following spaces:
- Kindergarten classes
- Islamic school classes
- Study rooms
- Sport facilities
- High capacity multi-purpose halls (used for Eid and Ramadan salah)
- Kitchen
- Office
This page provides a detailed timeline of our construction journey – from our humble beginnings to our exciting future – and demonstrates the dedication and commitment of our community to building a house of Allah for generations to come.
