Imam Yusuf Ali is 27 years of age and is a student at the University of Washington majoring in Computer Science. Beside his studies at the UW, he is also seeking knowledge of Deen (Islamic studies). Originally from Somalia, but he grew up in the Middle East (Syria and Saudi Arabia). He moved to the United States with his family some nine years ago. He memorized the Quran at age 23. Brother Yusuf hopes that the community will help him increase his good deeds by allowing him to give Dawah (Calling people to Allah swt). Brother Yusuf Ali is the current leading Imam for the Islamic Center of Bothell.
Was born in Syria and raised in Saudi Arabia where he received his high school diploma. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington in Seattle before moving to Cleveland for his Dental degree. He has been working and living in Bothell since 2006.
I am originally from Egypt, graduated from Alexandria University in 1991 and taught computer science classes during my MS research for 4 years. I have been living in the USA since 1995. Received my PhD in Computer Science from University of Maryland at College Park in 2001. Worked for Honeywell Aerospace in Maryland for 8 years, and in the last 4 years I have been working in Microsoft Windows Software Development. Elhamdolellah, I am married and have a 2-year old son. I don’t have a formal religious degree, and I don’t follow a specific Madhab. Most of my Islamic knowledge is from attending lectures of scholars here in USA (such as Dr. Salah Assawy, Dr. Sayyed Assili both from Azhar, Sh. Siraj Wahhaj and Sh. Johari Abdel-Malik and many active Brothers) and from my life-long hobby of reading. Favorite reading topics: Religion, History, Politics, and recently Economics.
Is a resident of the East Side and a software engineer. Graduated from Cairo University and currently, he has been in the United States for 9 years and enjoys volunteering and being active in the community. He is one of the founders of the Islamic Speakers Bureau of Seattle. Tarek has studied religious studies in Saudi Arabia and in Egypt and enjoys learning about Qur’an, History and Social Sciences. He has been giving the Khutbah in the Islamic House at the UW since 2004 and has also given the Khutbah at the Bellevue Masjid, MAPS and the Islamic School of Seattle
